Setting up 8K IPTV on Android

The most flexible platform. The same login works across a phone, a tablet and an Android TV box, so you can watch casually on the move and on the main television with one subscription.

Before you start

  • An Android phone, tablet, TV box or Google TV device
  • Your Xtream Codes login or M3U URL
  • A dedicated IPTV player from the Play Store

Install an IPTV player

Open the Play Store and install a player that accepts Xtream Codes or an M3U playlist. On an Android TV box, look for one that decodes HEVC in hardware.

Add your subscription

Open the player, choose to add a new playlist or account, and enter your Xtream login. Prefer Xtream where you can, because it keeps films, series, kids, news and channel regions in browsable categories.

Turn on hardware decoding

In the player settings, set the decoder to hardware or HW+ where offered. This lets the device handle high-bitrate 4K and 8K streams smoothly instead of straining the processor.

Let it load and test a channel

Wait for the channel list and guide to populate, then open a live channel and a video-on-demand title to confirm both play cleanly.

That is it

Once a channel plays cleanly you are done. The same steps repeat on any other screen using the same login, up to the device slots on your plan.
