Setup

Setting up 8K IPTV

Every setup follows the same short path, whatever you happen to be watching on. You collect your login details, install a player that suits your device, enter those details once, and let the app pull down your channels and library.

Most people are finished in a couple of minutes. This page explains the shape of it, then points you to the exact steps for the device in front of you.

The four steps, in order

There are only four things to do, and they are the same on a Fire TV Stick, an Android box, a Samsung or LG television, an iPhone, or a Windows laptop. Knowing them in advance makes the per-device guide easier to follow.

  • Get your login details from the confirmation we send after activation
  • Install a player app for your device
  • Enter your Xtream Codes login, or an M3U URL, or your MAG portal address
  • Let the app build the channel list, guide and on-demand library

Your login details

After activation, which takes about two minutes, you receive the credentials your player needs. These usually come as an Xtream Codes login (a username, a password and a server address) and an equivalent M3U URL for apps that prefer one. If you use a MAG box, you register its portal address with us instead. Keep this message to hand; it is all you will type during setup.

Choosing and installing a player

The subscription is not tied to one app. You install a player that runs well on your hardware, then point it at your login. On a Fire TV Stick or Android TV that might be a downloaded player; on Samsung Tizen or LG webOS it is an app from the built-in store; on iPhone and Apple TV, Windows, or a MAG portal there are equally good options. The per-device walkthroughs name a sensible choice for each so you are not left guessing.

Entering your details and letting it build

Open the player, choose to add a service, and enter your Xtream login, M3U URL or MAG portal exactly as we sent it. The app then downloads everything in the background: the live channels, the seven-day guide, catch-up where a channel offers it, and the video-on-demand library. On a normal home connection this takes a short while the first time. After that it simply opens to your channels.

Where to go next

Pick the guide that matches your device and follow it through. The steps are short and, once done, they are easy to repeat if you add a second television or move to a new device on one of your slots. If you are managing more than one subscription or reselling, the Control Panel at https://iptv.chat/panel keeps your logins and renewals in one place.

Setup questions

Common questions

How long does setup take?
Activation is about two minutes, and entering your details in a player takes a minute or two more. The first channel and guide download runs in the background and finishes shortly after.
Do I have to use a particular app?
No. Your login works with any compatible player. We suggest a good option for each device in the walkthroughs, but you are free to use one you already like.
What is the difference between Xtream, M3U and MAG?
They are three ways of giving a player the same subscription. Xtream Codes is a username, password and server; an M3U is a single URL some apps prefer; MAG is a set-top portal you register with us. Use whichever your device asks for.
Can I set up more than one device?
Yes, up to the number of device slots on your plan. Repeat the same four steps on each device using the same login details.
Where do I manage renewals or multiple subscriptions?
The Control Panel at https://iptv.chat/panel lets you view logins and handle renewals in one place, which is useful if you run several subscriptions or resell.
