Setting up 8K IPTV on Windows
A computer is a handy way to test that everything works before you set up a television, and perfectly good for watching at a desk. A desktop IPTV player or a media player that reads playlists will do.
Before you start
- A Windows computer or laptop
- Your Xtream Codes login or M3U URL
- A desktop IPTV player, or a media player that opens playlists
Install a player
Install a desktop IPTV player, or use a general media player that can open an M3U playlist and a network stream.
Add your line
Enter your Xtream login, or open your M3U URL as a network playlist. The player fetches the channel list and, on Xtream, the categories and guide.
Set hardware decoding
Enable hardware-accelerated decoding in the player’s settings so high-resolution HEVC streams play without loading the processor.
Play a channel to confirm
Open a live channel and an on-demand title. If both are smooth here, your line and details are correct, which rules them out when you set up a television.
That is it
Once a channel plays cleanly you are done. The same steps repeat on any other screen using the same login, up to the device slots on your plan.
